It’s with heartfelt appreciation that I share this foreword to yet another remarkable edition of the Wine Estate Challenge. The Challenge is more than just an event; it’s a celebration of camaraderie, competition and cherished memories. 

PwC’s continued association with this gathering of esteemed business leaders remains a profound honour as we bring together a bold and diverse field of participants to reflect on the evolving and inclusive spirit of our business community. 

This year, we welcomed 96 players to the field in a fitting tribute to the visionary Sarel Liebenberg, whose dream of a unique and meaningful tournament continues. We fondly remember Oom Sarel, who passed away in 2023. His vision lives on in the camaraderie, the competition and the joy of the game. 

Now in its 28th year, the Challenge has evolved into a truly remarkable tradition. A sincere thank you to our esteemed winemakers—Beyers, Kevin, Gyles and Thomas—for your generosity, unwavering support and continued association with this event. It’s an honour for all of us to carry forward this legacy of spirited competition and genuine connection.    

A heartfelt thank you to Anton van Wyk and Deon Storm, with the invaluable support of Tammy Marshman and Asheeqah Adams, for once again being the driving force behind the planning and execution of this event.
